Songs of Praise on BBC One

Exultate Singers appears in BBC One's Songs of Praise in a programme exploring one of the most universal yet mysterious human activities: prayer. Aled Jones talks to Archbishop Desmond Tutu and the Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams, who describes praying near the twin towers in New York on 9/11.

The choir sings David Ogden's arrangements of well-loved hymns including All my hope on God is founded, Make me a channel of your peace and Father hear the prayer we offer. The choir will also sing a new piece by David specially written for the programme, Spirit of God, descend upon my heart and Ian Carpenter's Irish Blessing.

The pieces were filmed in St Swithin's Church, Bath, with the Lochrian Ensemble (Catherine Black and Alison Black, violins; Narissa Dando, viola, and Matthew Greswell, cello), the clarinetist Julia Holmes and harpist Kate Watt.
