Gathering Voices Festival of Song

A concert given as part of the Gathering Voices Festival of Song, which runs at venues around the city from 16th - 24th October, with numerous local choirs, vocal ensembles and vocal workshop leaders taking part. The festival includes free performances in venues such as the Colston Hall foyer, workshops, a song trail in which choirs throw open the doors to their rehearsals to allow visitors to sit in and hear them at work preparing for performances, and ticketed concerts.

The Festival features a unique collaboration between Exultate Singers, the Bristol Bach Choir and Bristol Schools Chamber Choir in this concert on Friday 22nd October at 7.30pm at All Saints' Church, Pembroke Road, Clifton.

Conducted by David Ogden and Gavin Carr, the programme includes some choral gems from both choirs - Lauridsen's O Magnum Mysterium, Gabriel Fauré's Cantique de Jean Racine, Eric Whitacre's Sleep and Her Sacred Spirit Soars, alongside music by Vivaldi, Vaughan Williams, Harris, Rachmaninov, Stanford and arrangements of folk songs. Come along and enjoy a evening of brilliant choral music!
