Carols by Candlelight

Exultate Singers returns to perform the choir’s much-loved Christmas Christmas concerts in the candlelit setting of the medieval church of St James Priory, the oldest building in Bristol

Audiences come back year after year to enjoy the choir’s exquisite singing in a programme of contemporary and traditional carols, performed mostly a cappella. With glorious music in a beautiful setting, it’s the perfect way to begin the festive season.

The concerts will be given on Saturday 6th December at 4.30pm (finishing 6.40pm), and Wednesday 10th December at 7.30pm (finishing at 9.40pm), with an interval when refreshments will be served.

Central nave – £22 for adults, £11 students in full time education, £5 under 18s  (8 years+)
South Aisle (restricted visibility) – £16 for adults, £8 students in full time education, £4 under 18s (8 years+)
South Wall and North Wall (restricted visibility) – £13 for adults, £6.50 students in full time education, £4 under 18s (8 years+)

We welcome children aged 8 years + but the concert is not suitable for younger children as the audience is very quiet and still.

Access There is level access through the central doors into the church, and one step up at the door to the left. There is a lift to provide access to the toilets which are in the cafe area, and a disabled toilet available. Any chair can be removed to provide a wheelchair space. Assistance dogs are welcome but no other dogs are allowed. If you are planning to bring an assistance dog, it is useful for us to know in advance. The following seats are all chairs and can be removed to create a wheelchair space:
Central nave – all of row R, all of row Q and seat A4
South Aisle – all of rows A, J, K, L, M, P and R
North Wall – seats 1 to 4, and 14 to 19
South Wall – seats 1 to 7, 14 to 20, and 25 and 26.
